Amanda Maughmer is an exceptional photographer. She did my professional headshots and my daughter’s acting headshots, and they are truly the best photos ever taken of us. She is an expert when it comes to posing and lighting and knows exactly how to bring out the best in her clients.

Amanda is amazing.

I am not someone who enjoys having my photo taken. In fact, I usually avoid cameras whenever possible. When I was asked to get a headshot for our new website, I agreed without hesitation ... and then the reality of it started to set in.

I have Cervical Dystonia, a neurological disorder that causes constant tremors in my neck, making my head shake uncontrollably. Stress can make the tremors worse, and the thought of trying to “hide” them during a photo shoot definitely added to my anxiety.

When I arrived at Amanda’s studio, I was very nervous and visibly shaking. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the sweetest therapy dog, who immediately helped distract and calm me. The environment was peaceful, warm, and welcoming. I had a few minutes to sit with the dog and collect myself before my appointment began.

Amanda greeted me with vibrant, joyful energy that instantly put me at ease. It felt like I had known her for years. I explained my condition and my concerns, and she reassured me that we would take our time and not stop until I had a photo I truly loved. She even shared that she doesn’t particularly enjoy being professionally photographed either, which made me feel understood.

Amanda thoughtfully adjusted her camera settings, including increasing the shutter speed to minimize the impact of my tremors. She guided me gently, helped me relax my muscles, and captured 12 beautiful images. Together, we narrowed them down to one perfect headshot for our company website.
This session was on Monday. It’s now Thursday, and I’m still talking about what an incredible experience it was.

If you are looking for someone who is not only exceptionally talented behind the lens but also compassionate, patient, and skilled at navigating complex situations to capture the perfect shot - look no further. You’ve found her.

We hired Amanda for updated photos for our website and the experience was excellent from start to finish. She did a great job capturing our team, equipment, and the professionalism of our work without making anything feel staged or forced which isn’t always easy on active job sites.
